maybe rather than never having hangovers like they suggest they are just used to feeling terrible and simply never feel good. It's become so much a part of their life that this is just what being awake feels like to them. That doesn't sound so great either. I don't think anyone can simply be immune to the after-affects of drinking. There was a guy I knew that was a hard drinker for a lot of years and then one day his liver just gave up... he looked green all the time. Docs told him he has to stop drinking just to have a chance at survival and he had to take a ton of medication to keep what little remained of his liver functioning. A year later he was dead, such was his dedication to booze that even when faced with a death sentence, he still wanted it that badly.
