I've got a few friends in Singapore and when I was asking one of them about this he immediately had an excuse that sounded like the media talking rather than him thinking for himself. Something about there being more cases but each case is less life-threatening thanks to the vaccine - you know, exactly what a news station would tell you to think and would do without providing you any real proof of that actually being the case. There's just no helping some people.
