Nadi was a reluctant roommate with a Rhodesian Ridgeback and what a majestic animal that is. But you are absolutely right. Nadi was born before him and he got old and tired so fast and died a few years ago at the age of just 7. So many skeletal issues with him and the hips were a big part of it. I think perhaps that breed has been inbred to the point of not being a viable animal really. I do know that of all the dogs I have had in my life that the bigger ones always lived shorter lives and ended up with hip and leg problems. Nadi doesn't really have any of those issues. But to be fair she weighs almost nothing and never HAS to run. I can carry her if she gets tired.
