I got tired of it. Got tired of the rage cycles and the same arguments on repeat. Tired of people screaming into the void hoping for likes

I feel ya. Mine left right around 2016-2020 when it seemed that almost everything everywhere that all my friends and strangers were talking about had something to do with politics and most notably Trump. I saw people who had been friends for ages and even family members say the most awful things on a public forum and write off lifelong friendships over a social media post.

I kept FB because it's the only way I can talk to a lot of people that I have known for a long time but I was quite happy to get rid of the rest. I end up missing out on events every now and then but that is a perfectly acceptable innocent bystander to have to go in order to get rid of the rest of the crap.

While I don't and never will reveal who they are, I don't actually know very many people on Hive personally.... but I feel like I do and now I kind of enjoy keeping my IRL separate from my online life.
