I am American, but I haven't live in the United States for quite some time. As more and more people become interested in crypto I have been trying to get them involved in Hive but I am not familiar with how the process would work with Americans who live in the United States and I am hoping that there are some folks in here that can help me help them.
My friends are kind of new to crypto and they started talking to me about staking. One of them was talking about staking in this thing or that and I have very little experience in staking in anything other than AVA (Travala) but when I was looking at my own wallet I noticed that HBD is paying an APR of 10% which is actually a bit more than you can get in most places.
So I want to get my friends involved and I know that they will purchase HBD but here is the thing, I don't know what to tell them about accomplishing this because I haven't been restricted to what is legal / illegal in the United States for quite some time and am unfamiliar with how any of that would work.
I only know of Ionomy as far as trading HBD is concerned so here are the questions I am asking for all of you guys out there that hopefully have some USA experience to lend to my ears.
- Is it possible for my friend(s) to simply purchase HBD directly anywhere inside of the Hive or PeakD interface by using a credit card or bank transfer of USD.
- If not, can someone help out with a suggestion about how they can easily get HBD into a Hive wallet to take advantage of the 10% APR
It is important to keep in mind that if this process is too complicated they are unlikely to take part. I am also not interested in suggesting VPN options for things that could potentially get them in trouble with the IRS.
I'd like to get them involved in the community from a participation point of view but these are not the social media types. They are mostly just in it for the investment opportunities. If they were not in the USA and subjected to what I consider to be insane regulations of that country in regards to crypto I would be able to answer them, but I haven't lived there for nearly 20 years.
Hopefully someone out there can help me navigate this. It is bonus for Hive as well because any investment is probably a good thing for all of us right?
