So I get a lot of amusement watching the news stations crawl all over themselves to try to paint conservative politicians as racist, sexist, homophobic, whatever-word-you-can-think-of-phobic. The obvious top-tier target of this is Donald Trump, who recently called Baltimore a rat infested dump or something along those lines and then later said "No human being would want to live there."
Of course the media jackaloons jumped on this like fat people at a donut buffet.
Let me ask Joe Walsh this: Have you ever been to Baltimore? Because I have. It is not a nice place. It is riddled with crime, ranks near the top of most lists that you don't want to be a champion in, and is basically avoided by everyone that can afford to do so. If it wasn't so close to Washington D.C. I don't think anyone would go there. I think most people just drive through it because it is the only way to get north on a major highway in that part of the country. You certainly wouldn't plan your next vacation to wonderful Baltimore.
However, since Baltimore (or parts of it) has a high percentage population of blacks, the only reason why Trump could possibly be saying this is because of racism right? Not because what he is saying is actually true.
It ranks as the #7 most dangerous city in the United States despite being next door to the nation's capitol. However, criticizing a place riddled with violent crime and drugs could only possibly have one motive.... racism!
While I am quite certain that Trump was not angelic in his decision to focus on these communities (mostly it was lashing back at Elijah Cummings - if you even know who that is) but for the left to immediately jump on the racism train again, is just getting old. The word is so overused that it doesn't even mean anything anymore.
This sort of thinking gets us no where. Are you sick of people injecting race into everything? I know I am.
