Hi hive gardeners,
Although the weather in Holland is still pretty warm (20 Celsius today) October is the month to plant Tulips bulbs. For those never done this I will show you what you buy here.
Every garden centre sells Tulip bulbs , Hyancinths, Trumpet (?) bulbs and many other types. My girlfriend got these 3 packages for her birthday.
So these are all tulips and on the back you can see how to plant them. It says when, how deep, how wide of eachother and how high they get. The first and third are bigger ones that you plant at 10 cm deep (1/3 foot) and the middle one also 10 cm but 5 cm wide.
Full ground or a deep pot is also possible.
Next it is easy you dig a whole here and there in your garden and add some compost or plantsoil and put the tulips (or other types) in at the required debt. If you have some at 20 cm dept and others at 5 cm you can use the same area for both. The small ones will be gone when the bigger ones take over. Thos little ones are for example snowclock or blue grape (and the real English name I do not know)
The bulb itself looks like a small onion so you must put the growth tip above/on top/not up side down (clear ?).
Before you it is spring again !
