Dear Hivers and coin lovers
This post is not about (virtual) coins but about the real silver ones and more specifically about the Chinese Panda series celebrating 40 years in 2022.
To celebrate this the 2022 coin has a 40 included on the front:
I think this is the final design for 2022 so it is not a special jubilee coin, it is the 2022 panda and jubilee version at the same time. (The wintergames are in China in 2022 what influenced the snowy design.)
My own panda collection is "complete" or not ?
Let me show you my silver panda collection of 1 Ounce silver coins : The whole box and two close ups will do I think.
A good counter will see there are only 32 coins here so what about this 40 years?
Well I do bot have the 2021 coin yet (lazyness) and the 2022 is not available yet so then I would have 34 coins. ???
My first coin is of 1989 and not 1982 which was the start of the series but initially only PROOF coins weer made with a P on the coin. These ar very hard to get nowadays like some of the early 2000 coins. So 1982 till 2021 is 40 coins. They are a year late!!!

fun facts:
- A proof coin is a coin made of a mirroring piece of silver and treated with gloves till packaging. My coins are called Bullion coins and are made of non mirroring (though shiny) silver rounds and made in bulk. (Initially 50-100K pandas were minted per year and nowadays 6 million)
- The internet is responsible for the high mintages of today.
- Did you know the 1999 and 2000 coins are over 200-300 USD each?
- And did you know that two Chinese mints are used (SHenzhen and Sjanghai I believe) which sometimes led to little variances like a small or larger bamboo leaf or different date thickness etc. There are books that describe all coins or use PCGS/NGC website
