Hi Gardeners,
Today was sunny so I headed to the organic garden to help out. I raised potato beds in the greenhouse (type "belle de fontenay") and cleared some nasty weed elsewhere outside and a half hour coffee break ofcourse.
I then looked at the veggies in the greenhouses , we have 4 of which three plastic and one old of glass.
Last week the Paksoi was 100% pristine and now little holes are visible. As it is very earlu in the year we have no caterpillars yet or snails but check out the villain who causes this!
It is the Nympf of the sable grashopper if that is the right name in English. In Dutch "sabelsprinkhaan".
In this phase it eats greens and later on other onsects including caterpillars. So we leave him alone!
Bio veggies are liek this. Clients must accept that and they do!
Now I am gonna rest a little , I feel my back!
