Hi Stackers,
I was looking on various websites what was new the last weeks and as always there are designer coins that look really nice or have a story behind them that I was nto aware of, let's have a look:
#1 The nine tailed fox from Asia
With a 333 mintage this 2 ouncer is not exactly a bullion coin. It pictures a shapeshifter (man to fox) known in Asian mythology as Kitsune in Japan or Kumiho in North Korea. The woman s said to seduce men and sometimes eat them. (We in the West use the disguised wolf for that - Little red riding hood)
It is the 1st in a serie so those are the ones to get if any. Double sides high relief and antique finish do the rest.
#2 Hercules strangling a bull
Animal lovers beware as our Greek God Hercules is strangling a bull here on the coin. It is said to be a Cretan bull whereas the bull on picture used is a Scottish Highlander according to me.
Canadian mint Coin Shope and Polish Mint together issue this coin. It is the 7th in the series of "12 task of Hercules".
#3 for our US members!
This coin is the beloved Grand Canyon on a coin from above..
The other side shows the canyons in the face and ears of Charles III
Untill next time with more goodies!
