Last week I was invited for a tour in the woods close to where I live by the man that cares for the woodlands of a spiritual community. He is one of them. He used to also do the greenhouse but we have taken over and he is so happy about that that we got a tour.
Barend, the woodman he is called, is over 70 and very fit and takes care of thecutting of trees and selling them as fire wood. He uses modern machinery for that like tractor, chainsaw and splitter.
The wood is dried in the forrest under plastic covers.
*Picture taken by me with the group standing on tbe batchelors burrough. *(We call it a burcht in English burrough ??) Six of them live there currently and we counted 20 exists.
Apart of that he also has a huge workplace (above) with all the power tools a man or woman can dream of. He just finished a table that goes to our apprentice doing the greenhouse. That is how thankfull he is. (He could give me some firewood!!!)
For those aware what is going on in the world it will not be a surprise that all the firewood for 2022 and 2023 is SOLD OUT. He used reasonable prices and all is gone. Peple might even resell as market price for dried wood (oak/birch) are 400 EUR for a M3. Amazing. Was 70 EUR in the past.
