Hi Stackers,
I am in Spain for a couple of weeks so why not write something about Spanish coins?
Spain once was ruling the world and shipping a lot of gold and silver towards the homeland from (plundered) South America.
So a lot of coins remain of those periods with their rulers and all on it.
The ugliest King for sure was Carlos III who had a "nose like gardenhose" (free from the comic rap song Men's not hot)
The coins were freindly still as this is his portrait :
All fun aside the name Carlos or Carolus used in Spain is the same as Charles, Charlie and Carl, Karel used in other countries.
Karel is the same as the German Kerl or Dutch Kerel meaning a free, not aristocratic man.
The European history is full of Charles starting around 800 BC with the first emperor Charl-le - magne (Charles the Great/ Karel de Grote)
till - sit still - Karl Franz Joseph Ludwig Hubert Georg Otto Maria von Österreich
So with that said I go back to my Spanish garden looking after an overflowing pool!
hasta la proxima
