Are you familiar with Mene? Mene is 24 karat gold and platinum jewelry sold by gram weight. Mene accepts cryptocurrency for payment and many in this community have successfully made purchases. While you wouldnt be able to use steem or hive directly you CAN use Coinbase or bitpay to use crypto.

This being said with a disclaimer that I’m not sure where you live so you will have to check to see if Mene ships to your region.

The other company I am associated with is Goldmoney and while goldmoney doesnt accept crypto anymore converted funds to fiat could be used.
