Those are 'Freckles' Violets and I have them here. They will hybridize with the dark violet ones and have freckles on the dark ones. I used to have 7 different kinds of violets here, but had lost 3 of them.

The Epemidium has the coolest flowers! it's a very interesting plant. Glad your husband can get some stuff in the ground for you. I was supposed to plant peas last week, but it was far too cold to be out there. And now I am stuck doing windows for 3 days this week... Sigh...
