That's why I have lots of oil lamps, a water heater that doesn't require power, a gas stove ditto, and the wood stoves. When power goes out here, I flick a switch for hot water, and get annoyed when I go into the pantry and try to turn on the light. If it's going to be a long time, I also have a generator in the wood shed and keep plenty of gas on hand. That would be for the fridges and freezers.

And there's no shortage of books to read and projects to do, as long as they don't require a vacuum cleaner.

But I am glad your power came back on soonish. Your candle lit dinner looks lovely!
