I wish I'd thought to try starting a zucchini mid summer, when the first round died. Maybe next year... My basil was taken out with the first dip into the 40's, so that's been gone a while. First frost came on the 15th this week, so lots gone now. Loved seeing the garden as you head to the end of the season.
BTW, ginger hates it below 50F. That's why I put it in a hoophouse during the summer. It's inside under lights now.
