Plant lights do make a difference. I can't use LED due to Lyme light sensitivities. I have lots of good windows but I have continued to use the light in the bedroom for the ginger. Eventually all the kitchen plants ended up there. The poinsettia in particular loves the plant light. Mine's just a good quality T5 light.
