Being a 4th generation packrat, from both sides, selling the family stuff has never entered into it. It's valuable to me because it was made/owned/bought by someone in the family and handed down from generation to generation. Being 4th generation means there's now a LOT of stuff. Fortunately there were 6 kids to divide it up in my generation. Not sure what will happen to it with the next one...
