I get what you are saying, because my sister takes a while to figure things out but for a different reason. Because she's explained how her brain works, I tend to understand better when I run into someone who behaves "off the norm".

I am not slow, but do have severe cognitive issues due to Lyme disease damage and so I tend to work in a different manner than others.
