My drawing without my name.
as you can see there are 2 dots on his face and on the lower part but it's from my phone's camera.
A different angle of my drawing to get rid the dots on his face. But instead, it went up in his red hair and the other one is on the linings.
So I'm gonna show you the steps on my first drawing with coloring pencils. Just the thought of coloring makes me think that it is very hard for me to do that, but because I'm in need nowadays for the upcoming concert of One Ok Rock this January 29, 2018, I pushed myself beyond limits.
I entered a hand drawing competition (you can see my last post as my entry to that competition) for superheroes and it needs to be colored, I was hesitant at first to enter in the competition because it will be my first time doing a colored drawing.

I was supposedly going to draw Saitama from One Punch Man but I can't find any decent pictures of him except those fan arts for him, so I thought of his self-proclaim student; Genos but I'm afraid my tech. pen will run out of ink, Midoriya Izuku is on my mind but I already saw an entry of him so I came up with Todoroki Shoto the half cold the half ice hero.
When I was about to start I was so happy and excited since it will be my debut (lol) for my drawing with colors but simultaneously I'm afraid and anxious because maybe the outcome is bad. And seriously I was really having a hard time with this drawing that it took me a day to finish this one. I was so tired that I don't want to finish my drawing since I'm a little bit pressure for my time remaining for my entry.
when you are tired learn to rest, stop when you are finished. These are some of the quotes that are ringing in my head at that time so Fighting!
But thanks to Him, I passed my drawing 7 hours before the closing time of entries. hehe click here guys to see my entry for the competition.
Win or lose, at least I did my very best and I'm happy with it heheh.
Materials Used
- Sketchpad (304 mm × 457 mm)
- Sharpener
- Mongol 2 pencils
- Eraser
- Technical pens (0.4 and 0.5)
- Faber-Castell coloring pencil
These are the colors I used in coloring:
for the eyes
for the hair
for skin tone
for the ice color
costume
and for the fireyes I used 10 colors for the fire that was it was very exhausting since I'm not that good at mixing colors huhu
Process
I draw his face and the borderline of hair in align on his nose since he has 2 hair colors.

I got carried away so I forgot to take snaps while still on sketching huhu, I told you I'm happy and excited haha
I'm done with sketching so I proceed to my 2nd stage (lol) the inking part (linkin park? :D ) or tracing the lines. I started with his eyes.
So I continued on his face and his hair
The next thing is on his right collar then going down after on his face and hair.

When I was I sketching and inking I always start at the eyes so I also started coloring his eyes.
Todoroki Shoto possesses heterochromia which causes his left eye to be turquoise and his right eye to be gray.
Shoto has 2 hair colors, color white on his right side and red on his left side, so I started with the color white. The color white of the coloring pencil is can't be seen but you can see the difference of the coloring pencil and the natural white of the paper.
I added color gray for the shadow and a little bit yellow from the light of the fire on his left side.
Naturally, the color of his left hair is red but I put color yellow from the light of a fire.
after putting yellow I continued on putting the original color of his hair: red.
Same as inking, after I finished on his face and hair I proceed to his right collar with the color of his costume: blue! And also I added color brown on his face for the shadow and his scar
It's a burn scar over his left eye and as far as I have remembered he got it when he was a kid. (?)
I continued on his abdomen and I put a color orange on his right collar for the light or reflection of his fire.
covering his body with blue and black for the dark sides (star wars eh? haha)
coloring red on his right arm but just a little though.
So I'm doing his power/quirk: fire on his left side and it's pretty hard for me cause I don't know how to mix the colors but I kept pushing myself.
Done with the fire that is very exhausting but I'm happy and contented with the result.
the dots appeared again.
I colored his hand(s) for his skin tone and also his neck and face.
Since I'm done on his other quirk: the fire, I proceed on his other quirk too, the ice.
and Tedeeeeng! The outcome of my hard work that I almost gave up (haha).
At first, you are always hesitant to do it because you might think you can't do it but since it's very hard for you, it's impossible to do that and etc. BUT! you don't know what will be the result when you believe in yourself that you can do it. The only thing that is stopping you is yourself, so get out of the way.
