Before the first rays of the glowing energy ball danced along the infinite horizon we packed up and prepared ourselves to visit my birthplace, a mountain only a few know about but a wonder to me ever since.
After an hour of walking and jogging, we arrived at the foot of the mountain. The fresh mountain air welcomed us and cleared my thoughts away from the stressful life I lived. For the first time in four years, I felt joyous and carefree again. I felt more alive. I was so excited thirty more minutes and I’ll be home with my grandparents I haven’t seen for a while.
At last, after the sweaty walking and jogging, we arrived. The only person at home was my grandfather, the trace of surprise is around his face when he saw us and the undeniable happiness was plastered on his face. We hugged each other. While chaining my hands around my grandfather’s waist, I asked where my grandmother was and he told me she was pasturing the carabaos. By the way, my grandpa used to be the one who pastured their carabaos, cows and horses but he became sick and so my grandma took over the works, from planting crops and taking care of the animals.
From hiking outfits, we changed to more comfortable clothes and went to fetch my grandmother for breakfast. Once we saw her, can’t help but run towards my ever-loving grandma. Finally! I got to see them both again.
