Greetings to all dear people!
As I said, today I will give you a little description of the city where we are staying for 15 days. Herceg Novi is a city located at the entrance to Boka Kotorska and above it is Mount Orijen. For the first time in history, it was mentioned under the name Sveti Stefan, but later it changed names. It belonged to the Roman Empire, Byzantium, the Kingdom of Bosnia. The characteristic of this city which is the old city is the stairs which are the streets. There are 1200 steps from Kanli Tower to the seashore, so the small streets are narrow and all have steps. The new part of the city is towards the mountain and has a main road. The only Serbian Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić lived in Herceg Novi, and the most famous historical landmarks are the Kanli Tower, the Clock Tower, the Archangel Michael Church, the Savine Monastery, Škver. Yachts, barges, smaller ships are located in the harbor. Mimosa Festival is traditionally organized in Herceg Novi in the month of February, so the city is also famous for that. In summer, the biggest festival is Sunčane skale, which brings together the most famous music stars from the area of the former Yugoslavia. When you look at everything, the Old Town is really the place that leaves the biggest impression of Herceg Novi. All made of stone and concrete, and of steps that are called stairs here.
