Black Panther Delivers Fifth Largest Opening of All-Time

Now I know what you’re thinking. “Wasn’t Blade black?”. Or, “wait, isn’t Falcon a black guy? Miles Morales the Black / Latino Spider-man?” Honestly, those are all correct. Save for Blade (played by Wesley Snipes), who was the result of a woman of color, raped by a vampire, Black Panther is the first real black superhero lead.Meteor Man doesn’t count. Neither does Hancock, or Steel (all comedic or satirical in nature). Black Panther is the black Captain America . He is Iron Man. Hell, Tony Stark’s dad literally made Captain America’s shield from Vibranium. It is a well known fact that Vibranium is primarily found in Wakanda.

Unless he had an African side piece who told him about a secret city she was from, or the government had an identical Vibraium meteor hit somewhere in Kansas or something back in the day, someone stole it from Wakanda. Let’s call a spade a spade. But I digress, this post is about Black Panther and what a great movie is was. Honestly, what can be said? You just have to go see it. It is a MUST SEE. If you plan to see Infinity War in May trust me, you NEED this movie to fit the puzzle pieces together. Real Marvel aficionado’s know what I’m talking about.
