And in this case, the basics were both explosive and armored. I realize that choosing Noa The Just as my tank wasn't the smartest decision in retrospect. Although it's extremely fast and can avoid melee and ranged attacks, the ruleset called for magic cards, and Noa The Just is weak in terms of Life even when boosted by the summoner. It died quickly in a magic storm after avoiding only one ranged attack.
Torhilo The Frozen is by far the most favourite piece of ice when facing magic-focused opponents. Even though it lost its Void ability due to the ruleset, its 11 Lives helped me stop the opponent’s offensive and protect the damage dealers behind it. Stay cool, Torhilo!
Coastal Sentry with Reach and Trample buffs is an ultimate assassin when hidden in a second position behind a well-placed tank. Ideally, it can attack up to four times in a single round and eliminate up to 4 monsters. Well, with Blast ability, it could even possibly wipe out the entire set, but that would be like winning in a lottery. In this game, my Sentry served as another tank, blocking several attacks that would have otherwise targeted my real damage dealers.
Moving on to my main power, Nerissa Tridawn has 13 Lives when buffed by my summoner and 3 magic attack. Its only weakness is its below-average speed, especially when facing other Water cards with a +1 speed buff. Nevertheless, Nerissa made it to the end and survived.
Phantom of the Abyss is almost invincible when facing melee or ranged monsters , thanks to its Flying and Dodge abilities. With its speed, many slow cards wouldn't even hit it once in ten attempts. In this game, I used it as a damage dealer and didn't expect it to take any damage, which turned out to be true.
And last but not least, Runemancer Kye is one of the most powerful cards I’ve ever played with . When played as the last card, Kye drains life from opponents and can survive almost anything. Its Flying ability makes it harder to be targeted. In this game, it was used to deal damage. And it did – oh boy, it did!
