Is anyone here a Reddit fan?
The social-media network which has always been a sort of an underground place for me, has proven to be quite popular over the years.
I have been following some communities on Reddit that have been really refreshing and invigorating for me, thanks to the people that post some really nice stuff on it and thanks to the simplicity of it.
But over the last couple of days, I noticed that large parts of it went dark. The moderators of some of the most popular forums removed large parts of it for 2-3 days. Some of them are still down as of today.
I read that a lot of them were protesting against Reddit's plan to charge third-party-app developers for access to the site's data - but can anyone with knowledge about the subject explain to me why is this such a big deal?
And also, explain it as you'd explain to a 5-year old! 馃榿
Have a great Tuesday lovely people!
