Ah yes, the day of lovers all around. Yesterday was Valentine's Day!

Here is a bit of trivia: in Serbia, on the exact same date as Valentine's Day, in the Orthodox calendar we celebrate St. Tryphon, a holiday of wine-makers and table grape producers.

The legend has it that St. Tryphon was born around 225 AD in the village of Campsada in the Roman Province Frigia, todays Turkey. His parents were Christians hence he was raised in the spirit of the Christian religion. In his early childhood he developed an unusual God’s gift as a miracle worker.

Every year on February 14th the orthodox Christians celebrate St. Tryphon – the patron of vines and taverns, but also of love and fidelity.
St. Tryphon is being celebrated in the Orthodox world for centuries. He is being honored by many guilds, primarily bartenders and winemakers and growers because he is a protector of wine and vines.

Therefore - while some of you celebrate love only on Valentine's, us Orthodox Christians celebrate both love AND wine! A win-win situation for sure? 😁😁

Anyways - how did you guys spend yesterday's day? Hope you all had some quality time, regardless if you were celebrating Valentine's or St. Tryphon's!
