I have been so incredibly busy for the last few days that I haven't managed to post anything or even look at my feed. Today is just a tiny bit quieter. My friend @viking-ventures and her family are visiting, and it's been wonderful to chat face to face for the first time. They went off to the county fair today, so I thought I would share some pictures of the creek that runs along my road. I stopped at several of my favorite places on my way home from goat rounds the other day to go sit by the water and cool off.
The creek is extremely low right now. In the winter this is a roaring monster. It's more photogenic when it's calm, though. At least I think so.
I've been so focused on preparing for company that the goats have been getting less of my attention than they prefer. They are all well fed, but they get upset when I don't have time to hang out with them. When I went to check on the little herd today they were all in the hay barn, not in their fenced area. I found where the fence had fallen over, but I didn't bother to feed them since they had obviously been feeding themselves all day.
Tomorrow I will move their fence and give them something more interesting to do. It's supposed to be hot, so I might have to go down to the creek to cool off.
I woke up at 4:00 this morning to a light rain, which was a nice change. The rain stopped by the time the sun came up, but the clouds never burned off, so it's been very humid all day. It's a good thing I didn't have such a strenuous day today, because when the air is mostly water, it's hard to function.
I might actually get to sneak in a nap before it's time to go feed everybody! That would be a nice change from the last week.
Have a wonderful day, everyone! I will try not to drop off the radar for too long!
