"Indecision is the thief of opportunity"
Jim Rohn
It is true that the future is uncertain and that all of us have had to make decisions at some point, but when we are presented with this type of circumstance, being undecided is a danger. It is important to instill children with self-confidence so that they have the ability to decide without being influenced by third parties.
When children can not make simple decisions about the things they prefer, they will become an insecure and fearful child. It is normal that we all have indecision at some point, but in children it can be crucial in its development.
Many times the indecision has to do with not knowing what the child really wants, his tastes or self-knowledge, also by very demanding and authoritarian parents who impose on their children everything that should be based on their liking and not on those of children.
Parents should also avoid criticizing or correcting their children negatively and constantly, as children begin to feel fear and insecurity, believing that they will always be rejected for expressing their ideas.
It is important that parents fill their children with security at all times by strengthening each of their attitudes, speaking positively and guiding them so they can know themselves.
It is good that parents give their children the opportunity to choose between small things, starting with simple decisions, such as if you prefer cookies or cakes, juice or yogurt, go to the grandmother's house or to the park, so they can define your pleasures and feel that your opinions are taken into account.
In any situation, you should not pressure or force children to make a hasty decision, you must respect their response time. That is why it is necessary to explain little by little to children the importance of making a decision and always follow their instincts and desires.
