¿Cómo están, amigos?

Hoy, además de mostrarles algunas postales lindas, me gustaría compartir con ustedes algunos pensamientos que he tenido desde que asistí a la presentación de tesis de mi hermana mayor. En mi país, Venezuela, debido a toda la problemática a nivel económico y social mi generación ha pasado por cambios en el punto de vista profesional, porque pasamos de priorizar la educación universitaria a buscar formas de aumentar nuestros ingresos, y claramente eso hizo que el graduarnos pasara a un segundo plano.

How are you folks?

Today, besides showing you some nice postcards, I would like to share with you some thoughts I have had since I attended my older sister's thesis presentation. In my country, Venezuela, due to all the problems at economic and social level my generation has gone through changes in the professional point of view, because we went from prioritizing university education to look for ways to increase our income, and clearly that made us graduate to a second plane.

Y eso pasó principalmente por el hecho de que en años pasados si no trabajabas sobrevivir era muy díficil, se requería mucho capital para conseguir cosas tan sencillas como la comida o productos de aseo personal, y desde entonces son muchos los que dejaron de lado su sueño de graduarse a nivel universitario.

También están los que se fueron del país buscando una mejora en sus vidas, y al lograr estabilizarse no sintieron la necesidad de retomar sus estudios, así que ya no le dieron importancia. Otros se desanimaron en el camino al ver que, en muchos casos, alguien sin estudios ganaba más dinero que un profesional y eso los desmotivó.

And that happened mainly due to the fact that in past years if you did not work to survive it was very difficult, it required a lot of capital to get simple things like food or personal hygiene products, and since then many have given up their dream of graduating from university.

There are also those who left the country looking for an improvement in their lives, and when they managed to stabilize, they did not feel the need to resume their studies, so they no longer gave it any importance. Others became discouraged along the way when they saw that, in many cases, someone without studies earned more money than a professional and that discouraged them.

Mi hermana en algún momento pensó que retomar sus estudios para obtener el título de ingeniero era una pérdida de tiempo, pues la empresa en la que trabaja tiene sueldos que dejan mucho que desear, hasta que mi papá se sentó con ella y le dijo: "Esta situación no será la misma dentro de unos años, y cuando el cambio llegue debes estar lista para ser tomada en cuenta", ¡Cuánta verdad! Así que hace 2 años retomó sus estudios y ahora está cosechando los frutos de esa decisión.

My sister at some point thought that resuming her studies to obtain an engineering degree was a waste of time, since the company where she works has salaries that leave much to be desired, until my dad sat down with her and told her: "This situation will not be the same in a few years, and when the change comes you must be ready to be taken into account", how true! So 2 years ago she resumed her studies and is now reaping the fruits of that decision.

Ahora, ¿La situación cambió? ¿Ahora que es ingeniera ganará más? Pues no, el sueldo sigue siendo el mismo y el país sigue atravesando la misma situación, pero lo importante es que ya ella no es la misma, ahora tiene la experiencia y los conocimientos que la ayudarán a encontrar algo mejor.

Now that she is an engineer, will she earn more? Well, no, the salary is still the same and the country is still going through the same situation, but the important thing is that she is no longer the same, now she has the experience and knowledge that will help her find something better.

Obviamente ella desearía tener una casa propia a estas alturas, un carro, y las comodidades que se supone que ganas al trabajar arduamente, pero aunque eso a veces le baja los ánimos, ella sabe que la respuesta es seguir adelante, continuar buscando su oportunidad y estar preparada para ella. 💪

Obviously she wishes she had a house of her own at this point, a car, and the comforts you're supposed to earn by working hard, but even though that sometimes dampens her spirits, she knows the answer is to keep moving forward, keep looking for her opportunity, and be prepared for it. 💪

Así que, es normal sentirnos estancados a veces, no encontrarle sentido a nuestras decisiones y perder un poco la esperanza, pero debemos recordar que todo en este mundo es pasajero y Dios no quiere que nos rindamos, sino que peleemos la batalla hasta el final. ¡No desmayes!

So, it is normal to feel stuck at times, to not make sense of our decisions and to lose hope a little, but we must remember that everything in this world is temporary and God does not want us to give up, but to fight the battle to the end. Don't give up!

"Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios estará contigo en dondequiera que vayas."(Josué 1:9)

"Behold, I command you to be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid or dismayed, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."(Joshua 1:9)
