Good morning everyone,

This lovely morning, I want to share with us the drawing of the beautiful Angelique Kidjo. She is a Beninese singer/songwriter, actress and activist. While growing up my mum mostly hum her song "Agolo" and so the rhythm had always stuck to my brain but mind you, neither do I nor she knows the name of the singer. She probably must had forgotten her name. I love the way my mum sang it because the language in the song sounded like Yoruba which is our own dialect but the pronunciation and composition of the song sounded different. Now what made me knew Angelique was the singer was when she won Grammy in the same category as Burna Boy who is a Nigerian artist. Just to know more about her, I downloaded some of her songs and viola she was the one that sang the song my mum had always been singing. I immediately fell inlove with her and her songs and agreed she truly deserved the Grammy. Ever since I've been a fan of her songs most especially the one she sang with Yemi Alade titled "Shekere". I just love the way she carries the African culture with grace and dignity.

The drawing was made on a pelican paper using Bic ballpoint biro.
