There are different reasons why we pray as Christians. For some, it is what they do only when in church or are in need of something.

Prayer is the means by which we fellowship with God. It is a communion, a communication, a conversation.
The lifestyle of a christian should be the one of continued prayer that is communication with God. Because you want to do things according to His will. Praying does not mean you always look for a quiet place. You can be driving and say a prayer. Such short prayer when it is heartfelt makes power available.
In Luke 18:1 it read "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint."KJV
This admonition was to let us know we should communicate with the Father more than any other. Prayer can never be too much. Rather these days you find Christians having trouble to pray at least once in a day.
Let not your love go down or get cold for the things of God. It starts when you find it hard to pray or study the scriptures. Satan wants to take the word away from the saints so he can subject them under him. There are hundreds and thousands of distractions everywhere. That is not good enough reason not to pray.
18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Ephesians 6:18 KJV

We have to pray for one anothet to be strong in faith. The government of your country. Leaders in the house of God. Your family, coworkers, fellow parishioners of the steemchurch.
Prayers are never enough because we live by it.
