Vegetables are a necessity in our diet of today. With the increase of free radicals in the body that are harmful to health thereby can increase blood pressure and cause chronic heart problems with other ailments in the human body.

There is the need to increase vegetables in our diet to meet the daily needs of micro-nutrient such as vitamins and fibers in the body. Vegetables are low in calories which makes it best for our diet.

This is a suculent green leafy vegetables that tops the chart because of its special rich content in vitamins A and vitamin K. This combination makes it a choiced vegetable because it is rich in antioxidants that help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, heart diseases, high blood pressure and rejuvenates the body.

CARROTS

Carrots though are like tubers but regarded as vegetables. They have high content of beta-carotene which gives it its bright colour. Rich in Vitamin A an antioxidant that reduces the chances of prostrate cancer and lung cancer. Carrots also contains Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Potassium.

There are other vegetables like brokoli, kale, asparagus, ginger, garlic, tomatoes, okra, green peas, green ball pepper, sweet potatoe and more. Locally there are ugwu, shoko, ewedu and so on.

These are used to prepare delicious local delicasies that nourishes the body. They only need not to be over cooked to preserve their nutrients.

Get a vegetable meal on a daily basis and you would see your strength and health bounce back to life.
