Hello Drone Community,
Unalaska Island might seem small, but it really isn't. When we arrived on the island, friendly locals lent us a car. This proved to be an immense help, especially when we needed to refuel. We knew there was no way we could bring our boat beside those scary logs on the fuel dock, so we had to fill up our jerry cans and bring them back to the boat. It was the same with groceries, and we also helped the sailors we were travelling with.
While we had the car, we decided to make the most of it and explore the off-the-beaten tracks that didn't seem to get much car traffic. I thought this would be the perfect moment to get my drone and film the car. As you can see in the video, my movements are very jerky because I can only fly in sports mode, which is very responsive. But I won't bore you with excuses; it was probably the most scenic drive I've ever been on.
The drone doesn't even capture how beautiful the landscape truly is. The mountains in the background are all filled with snow and look like they could be used for skiing.
We also met another couple in the church who were making a documentary about Orthodox churches in Alaska. They were just getting the hang of their drone and stumbled upon my YouTube video on the B-24 Bomber. They asked if they could use the footage and asked me to make some videos of the Church, and of course, I didn't refuse since I would be credited. This was the first time I realised that flying drones could bring some income too. It's good to be able to help people either way.
