There probably isn't a good way to end that sentence.
Yeah, my wife has insurance through the hospital, so we're okay there. She uses it mostly. I haven't really needed it in the six year she's been working there.
I think she's okay with taking the vaccine. There are others in her department that have already taken it and they appear to be doing okay. The second vaccine will be more important, though, since the first one basically sets up for it. I'm not personally thrilled about it but I think she really wants to do it.
She was given an option, which surprised me for the reason you suggest. It could be she was given the option to wait, but that's not how she presented to me.
I've been trying to figure out where we do go from here. I don't think the powers that be truly want a pandemic to last for too long, but I don't know if there's enough people on their side to just keep mandating shutdowns without any reason, or mask wearing, etc. That often means some other disaster so they can keep control.
At any rate, history does have a tendency to repeat itself, and we have a tendency to ignore it. Can't happen again! We're smarter, more enlightened, more powerful, blah, blah, blah. In the end, no matter how hard we try, we can't overcome Natural Law.
So, I hope with you, that somehow things can change for the better without getting far worse, but I don't think the world has suffered nearly enough. I think the polarization is still happening, with too many of us ending up in the middle of the crossfire.
