Hey, @bashadow.
Yeah. I don't know. I really should be used to it by now, since it happens a lot. My idea of helping and her idea of helping are two different things. Problem is, she felt locked into doing it because I wanted to take some of the tamales to people we know, one, because it's Christmas and something nice to do, and two, so that we wouldn't end up with so many tamales. So, it all worked out for the best, but man, it would be nice if it didn't have to be so... I don't know. Something.
re: championship
Well, the plan became play six games, top team from each division goes. But, even that became hard because not all teams could play each week, so some games got cancelled.
The PAC-12, I will say, blew it. They never really had a plan of their own from the beginning, but seemed to follow the cues of the Big 10, who actually got in a couple of more games when they finally decided to play. The Big 12 and the SEC ended up with the most games, because they decided they were going to play games from the beginning.
So, it was a mess, and the PAC-12 can only blame itself for the way it handled it. I'm sure it didn't help that three of the six states involved (Washington, California and Oregon) have some of the most restrictive policies regarding COVID-19. And yet, Washington and California teams had more cancellations than any other. Oregon skates only because it doesn't have as many high density population centers.
I doubt there will be any asterisks. As it is, the four teams that are going to the National Championship are pretty much the same four every year, with Notre Dame being the one that's interchangeable with four or so other teams that don't "automatically" go every year.
Alabama is odds on favorite to take it this time.
