Hey, @galenkp.
With me, it's jumping off things.
- Younger neighbor kid's garden trellis that he jumped off just fine?
I limped two blocks home with a twisted knee.
- Evil Knievel canyon record setting jump I devised out of a eight foot two by four and a chair in our long gravel driveway?
Aside from feeling dumb (and thankful that no one else saw it), some rock cuts and maybe a bruise or two, I survived the whole "board coming off the back of the chair before I was a quarter of the way up" thing pretty well.
- Homemade ramp that other kids were jumping off of with master aplomb that my mother told me I couldn't use my bike to go over?
Well, let's just say, after I borrowed my friend's bike (long harley-like handle bars and banana seat) I managed, on the first jump, when the front tire was pointing down and the handlebars gave way, to skid on my face from the middle of the street to the far curb. Knocked me silly enough that the last thing I remember is the asphalt rushing up to greet me before I came to my senses in the waiting room of the doctor's office with a well deserved headache.
