I hope we find out eventually who did it, because there are some functions requiring keys I would like to still use, but I can't do that without knowing who is behind it. As it is, I'm wondering if I should use it all, even if I do find a decent way of compensating steemchiller for it.

I'd like to say that those personalities you describe won't make their way here to HIVE, but eventually, they most likely will. And the ones you're missing will probably end up here, too. That is, unless the whales you mention find a way to mess things up. Unfortunately, money has a way of doing that, even digitized ones in a bear market (or something like that).
