It has been a while since I boarded a plane and I don't know when will be the next. My recent travels were all within the island of Cebu or to the neighboring islands.

The pandemic is not the only thing that's grounding me. My responsibilities at home and at school are keeping me from going too far.

Yet I know if I really wanted to travel, I could. There's nothing physically holding me down and tying me to the ground that's preventing me from going anywhere. It's just me who's holding myself back.

I particularly miss flying during a sunrise. You look out the window of the plane and you can witness the dancing of the colors and the gradual yet undeniable change that's happening right in front of your eyes. And after a few minutes, everything is bright and clear as if the explosion of colors was just a dream.

I don't really have any travel goals for this year but maybe it's time I reconsider and update my goals.

How about you? Have you been flying a lot lately despite the pandemic? Or are you also staying put and letting responsibilities and fears ground you?

May we all choose to free ourselves from our own prisons and go far our into the world.
