Teaching is really a demanding profession but, unlike other professions, teaching requires that you assume a sense of dedication to the job, and to the children of the families that you serve, at the expense of nurturing and educating your own.

As a teacher, it is really difficult to have a work-life balance. Often times, you will feel a sense of guilt and will question your effectiveness in both roles - as a teacher and a mother.
I've been a teacher and a mother for four years now, and it has been the most stressful and exhausting, but the most joyous and rewarding years of my life.
Just recently, I have attended the very first Recognition and Moving Up Ceremonies of my son who is in preschool. This time, I took the role of a mother instead of being a teacher. It was the very first time that his dad and I accompanied him up the stage to receive his awards.
The following are the awards that he received.

Words cannot describe how proud we are of him. More than these awards and certificates that he received, our hearts are filled with overwhelming happiness knowing that he is enjoying whatever he is doing. We will always be proud of him even if he doesn't get any award. What's more important is that he grows to be a loving, God-fearing, happy, and a good person, and we do promise to support him every step of the way.
