Coro (venezuela)
Falcón is one of the twenty-three states that, together with the Capital District and the Federal Dependencies, form the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Its capital is Coro and its most populous city, Punto Fijo. It is located in the central-western region, bounded on the north by the Gulf of Venezuela and the Caribbean Sea (Atlantic Ocean), on the east by Golfo Triste (Caribbean Sea), on the south by Yaracuy and Lara, and on the west by Zulia.
It was baptized with that name in honor of Juan Crisóstomo Falcón, leader of the Federal War. In front of Falcón state, in the Caribbean Sea, there is the Leeward group of the Netherlands Antilles: Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire.
Among its economic resources are;
Livestock: poultry, bovine, goat and swine.
Fishing: Tuna, catfish, carite, corocoro and mullet (marine). Shrimp, crab and lobster, pepitonas and quigua (molluscs).
Agricultural products: sugar cane, coconut, corn, melon, yam, ocumo and sorghum.
Forest resources: Candlestick, cedar, cují, guamo, jabillo and vera.
Mineral resources: Arenas, limestones, coal, chromite, gravel, petroleum and phosphate rocks.
