Cattleya. (Orchid)
They are native to Central and South America, mainly concentrated in the Andean regions of South and North America, and the largest in Brazil, mainly the coastal regions. Cattleyas also exist in Mexico, Panama, Trinidad, Venezuela and Peru.
They are characterized by the presence of cylindrical pseudobulbs of several nodes with thick leaves. Epiphyte plant provided with pseudobulb that starts from a rhizomatous stem, emerging from it the roots with which the orchid adheres to the host plant.
Epindenrum.Epidendrum is a very vast genus of about 1000 species of orchids mostly epiphytes. It is characterized by large inflorescences that carry dozens of tiny but very elaborate flowers.
Fragrant flowers, appear at the end of the stem covered with leaves, last several months and are perfumed. Their main pollinators are butterfly and moths diurnal and nocturnal although there are species that are also pollinated by hummingbirds.
