Happy day to all of you, for me it is a great pleasure to be able to share with you again about this topic of our ancestors, as a tradition in our Church we are taught to love, respect, honor and know our ancestors.
Thanks to this wonderful work I have come to know many of those beloved people that I could not see in life, but I know that they are undoubtedly part of me, either by the legacy they have left us, traditions, qualities, attitudes, dreams in common and of course genetics.
So when I read the initiative proposed by our dear friend
@tibaire, I did not think twice so I started to compile in my mind those things that I have inherited from my ancestors, so I will share with you her weaknesses whenever someone needed her, she was always there.
My mother's inheritance.
For me she is the bravest and warrior woman I have ever known; of course she inherited it from my grandmother; from my mother I inherited her love for our fellow men, for her serving others was something that made her happy, in spite of her own limitations.
Something else I learned from her was to forgive, my mother suffered a lot because of good faith for others, some people took advantage of the trust she gave them to make profit for them, despite this when those same people needed her again there she was, turning her other cheek, this made my love and admiration for her grow every day.
Together with my mother I learned to knit one of my greatest passions, I remember when I was only 4 years old, she began to knit and I started to hold the yarn and I watched how she did it and when she stopped knitting I "started to knit" at the beginning I made some tangles that bothered her a little, until one day tired of my tangles she decided to teach me and since then I have kept that legacy.
In the picture she is wearing her latest creation, now my duty is to pass it on to my nieces and in the future to my granddaughters, I feel that being a knitting spider is part of that bond that will keep us united forever.
Inheritance from my father.
My father is of Hungarian nationality, among my family he was always known as "Musiú" and that was the first thing I inherited from him his nickname, and something else that identified us and it is not at all pleasant to say it is the bad smell in my feet, my brothers tell me - you did not lose the smell of your dad - hehe, "what is inherited is not stolen" and believe me I have tried when I have been told remedy and only take effect a few days.
I am the daughter of a grandfather so to speak, between me and my father there is a gap of 58 years, so I enjoyed him very little, but something else that can not be doubted that I inherited from him, is the taste for vegetables my father was a vegetarian, meat was not on his menu although he could not live without his glass of freshly milked milk, that was something I never understood but that's how he was.
Another of the things I learned from him was the love for nature, for him it was his place to clear his head in the most difficult and important moments of life, he used to go hiking to clear his head, that's what I do when I am in contact with nature I feel as if my father was there with me.
Among his most valuable teachings are:
- The important thing is not the time you share with people, but the quality of time you spend with them.
- Never leave for tomorrow, what you can do today, before going to bed every day he would ask us, did you do everything you had to do today?
- And the most important was this "Your success depends on you, not on trampling on other people", respect for our fellow men was something sacred to him.
Inheritance from my grandmother.
From my grandmother I inherited the taste for sewing and embroidery, whenever I visited her I found her sitting embroidering or with her sewing machine, usually every garment that was given to her she ended up making alterations, she put pockets on everything; this in particular I have no doubt that I inherited it from her, for me an apprenticeship without a pocket is like walking naked.
In spite of sharing a lot with her, that is what united us, because I always felt a little excluded from her tastes, she would say - this girl went out to the Hungarians - at first I did not understand why she said it, but as I grew up I realized it was true, our characters clashed and I think I really inherited this from her, because we are both strong characters we do not bend to challenges rather we strengthen others, and I think this was something that bothered her because she did not let anyone manipulate me, including her.
**Genetic inheritance.
Something that cannot be doubted are the laws of nature, and this I could understand when I started to study a little bit about genealogy, that's when I understood that my son's hump is inherited from my grandmother, there are genetic traces that are inherited in the fourth generation.
Before I knew it I was fighting with my son to keep him straight, I thought it was due to a bad sitting position that he was getting a hump, I even bought him a posture corrector and nothing worked, until I understood that of my grandmother's 128 great grandchildren my son was the only one who inherited it, well so far, I still have cousins who are not parents.
Invito a mis queridos amigos @lauramica y
There is no doubt that to remember is to live, and the most wonderful thing is to honor those who deserve honor, I thank God for the time shared with each one of them, for their attributes and teachings.
I invite my dear friends
@lauramica and
@florecitamejias to share with us where their heritage comes from?
