As I lay on my bed and kept my head on my tears-stained pillow, I continued asking myself, "Why do I have to face these challenges" Unfortunately it kept coming, it's not our choice as to where we are born, the family we are born into, the community we are born into or the social, wealth status of the people we are born into, and it pains my heart that most of us aren't lucky enough.
We are born into a family where we have to struggle on our own, not that we are entitled to anyone helping us but having a family who is buoyant enough to help you when you need help is indeed a blessing.
The worst part is, you aren't just surviving for yourself but you are trying to survive for your family, the responsibility put on just one person is supposed to be a two-person responsibility but unfortunately, it's your cross to bear.
I had a talk with someone and honestly, yesterday I was sad because for the number of years that I can remember, I have been hustling to survive, I have been on my toes, because of the whole family responsibility, and it is getting to me, sometimes I just wish I could rest, away from the too much stress I am putting myself as a result of where I am born into.
I am tired, and I think it is selfish that most people are in plenty, others have a handful and others have nothing, just thinking about it brings me a headache. It is draining when just one person is doing everything in a family, it is depressing when the whole responsibility falls on just one person.
