I have seen people cut ties with someone they've been friends with for years all because of a little issue that could be resolved among themselves, with the phrase "Whatever takes my peace of mind away, must be cut off."
I understand that with the things happening on a daily in our lives, we do not need to be stressed by someone else but then, was God not thinking about humanity when he created as many people as he could and instilled love and friendship for a reason?
I mean, I know one needs to be careful as they say "The heart of men are desperately wicked" but if God didn't think that most people, their friendship and love for each one another would be the reason why someone would decide to help the other to get to a particular stage, He wouldn't have created and instilled friendship between to or more humans. He knows we need each other to be able to survive in this world.
Unfortunately, people are always eager to cut friendships at every slightest provocation. We no longer sit down to resolve issues through dialogue anymore, every man wants to be in their space and not concerned about their next neighbour.
Regardless of what I have gone through, I still love and believe in humanity and that there are humans out there who can be together and look out for each other regardless of the odds that they go through
What does it take to love each other? What does it take to be intentional and careful about not hurting the next person by you or your next-door neighbours? What does it cost to maintain loyalty and make everyone and anyone feel secure around us? I guess we all know the answer because truthfully it takes nothing. What if we just learn to love genuinely and be loyal and faithful to whoever we call friends or have friendships with, don't we think it will make the world a better place for us?
We disconnect from people and yet constantly complain of not being loved enough and when it is pointed out to us, the best answer we can give to ourselves is that "We are doing it for our peace of mind", so why complain about not being seen or loved enough?
We all want to be loved, but many of us are not ready to give out as much love as the other person is giving out. We want everything for ourselves but aren't thinking about the other person.
We betray others' trust and do not feel remorse about it but whine so loud when the same measure of what we give to others is given to us and we are quick to judge the other culprit because he or she was caught.
I pray that God help us to attract that which our heart desires, and may we be fully adequate and prepared enough to appreciate and handle it when it comes.
