That's very interesting. It is like your brain is using reverse psychology: feeling pain requires pleasure to balance it. The old law of the opposites. I wish that I had that problem. I am a blood fainter, but have done a lot better in the last few years than I have in the past. An interesting fact: fear of blood and needles is the only anxiety disorder that results in fainting. The mind is a sneaky, complicated place.
That bike incident sounds horrendous. I should probably have a talk with the boy about not doing something like that - it will avoid him pain, and me a fainting spell.
Actually, midwives make you have a large protein rich meal all set for after giving birth. A whole wall of pizzas might not be too far outside of appropriate. :)
