One of my worst embarrassing moments happened a long time ago.
In the early hours of a Sunday morning, I was running late for morning service and had planned to wear my new high-heeled shoe to church.
Now it is a norm in Nigeria for Catholics to run to the church even when they are 2minutes late. I wore my heels, I was comfortable in it but while stepping out I felt like the heels are in combat with the stones and it was making me walk slowly, so...in order to meet up, I had to hasten up, I was almost close to the church when I missed my step and I felled face down to the ground 🤦♀️ hmm...I refused to get up, I could hear some people laughing and some sympathizing 🤨I didn't know how to get up as there were lots of people rushing to meet up with time. I was a mess, I got help getting up and then cleaned up myself, removed the heels and went back home.
Believe me when I say the next sunday I didn't go to that church because of shame.
I went to another thou some individual with keen memory still recalled my face and the incident, they inquired how I was doing..."Hope say you no wound that day?"(pidgin)🙄 hmm...
Another incident also happened in the church. I was on my period and didn't know I was stained, I went to give my offering and on returning to my seat, a sister seated behind me used her jacket to cover me and then whispered to my ears that I was stained 😨 I felt worse than embarrassed 😑 I quickly adjusted my stained skirt to the side got up and left for home, very sad😓
