The Quarter Finals draw is here and we have mouth-watering clashes as I would have expected. I find it hard to predict anything at this stage of the competition but I have to go with my predictions as well. It's just based on preference sometimes and also based on the quality of the team but it's not in any way a disrespect to any team because there is no team at this stage of the competition that didn't earn it. They worked their socks off to create history by being here and for that, I am glad.
Chelsea is a stubborn team hahaha and I know they know how to play against big teams, especially with their wealth of experience but I feel Real Madrid would win this one. It's not going to be easy, especially how Madrid played the first leg against PSG, it wasn't impressive but they showed character and proved that they would let their experience of holding more of the competition's trophy count. The first leg might be a draw but I am seeing Real Madrid win on aggregate by 3-1.
I feel Tuchel should try and use Lukaku for these games but then, he would want to go with what has worked for him over time and that's deploying Havertz as a false 9. Havertz is tricky and he knows how to pop up, do the damage and get the goals. It would be a good game and I am tempted to say Chelsea would win this round.
UEFA decided to send our noisy neighbours to avenge us in beating Atletico Madrid hahaha. I know Atletico Madrid played well and are good but City always create tons of chances but Atletico Madrid doesn't create so much but they know when to take chances. With Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez in form and Cancelo, I don't think City would lose this round. I won't be surprised to see a 4-2 or 4-1 aggregate win for Manchester City.
The Yellow Submarines would take on the unforgiving Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich knows how to punish their opponents and make them look ridiculous. Villarreal has earned respect for what they have done in the competition up to this point but I am afraid that this is the end of the road for them. Bayern Munich would win this encounter with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline. Villarreal would show their quality as usual but I would be more surprised to see an upset even though I am open to it. I am a neutral so anyone who wins must have deserved it.
I know a lot of people want to draw Benfica because they are the easy options but trust me, they are not. Of course, I know Liverpool would win this tie and 3-1 on aggregate but Benfica would cause them a lot of problems as we have seen how they were conservative, smart, quick, tricky and clinical against Ajax. Liverpool would have to be on their toes and not give too much away if they are to come away with a win for this round.
The Semi-Final clashes would be another series of games to savour because the winner in Chelsea v Real Madrid would play against the winner in Manchester City v Atletico Madrid and if all goes as I have predicted, then we are looking at Real Madrid v Manchester City.
The other one would be Villareal v Bayern Munich, the winner here would play against the winner in Benfica v Liverpool and going with my predictions, that would be Bayern Munich v Liverpool which is another mouth-watering clash. I wouldn't mind a final with Real Madrid v Bayern Munich with both teams rich in history where the UEFA Champions League is concerned.
