A lot has been said regarding Harry Kane's failed move to Manchester City. Many people saw how unhappy he was regarding the failed move and how he struggled a bit earlier in the season. Many people felt he should stay while others felt he deserves to be on the move. Regardless of the choice that he will eventually make, there is no one that can deny him his status as a legend for Tottenham Hotspur.
Apart from being the vice-captain who deputizes for Hugo Lloris, he has shown everyone that he is a top professional where his work is concerned. He didn't want to leave because he hated the club or the supporter or because he got bored with the city but because he is on a trophy hunt. He came close to winning titles many times with Tottenham but they came short. He got frustrated with the lack of silverware and if we are being honest, we know that apart from a player or a striker being judged by goals, it's your trophy cabinet that matters too. It's scary to imagine Phil Foden with more than 10 titles under his belt and he is just 22 years.
I don't think anyone can fault Harry Kane for wanting to leave even though many people didn't understand Robin Van Persie's choice for leaving Arsenal as their captain to join Manchester United but it was not long before he was proved right; he wanted to win the Premier League and he did. That proved decisive and he can have that bragging rights over Steven Gerrard despite his illustrious career.
Harry Kane has always played his heart out for Tottenham Hotspur and I love how he would spur his team on despite staring at defeat in the face. He would drift wide, come through the middle, recover the ball, defend, track back, chase the ball, score and then provide assists. His work rate and ability on the ball is why he is wanted by most clubs. He was linked with Real Madrid at some point before Barcelona and now, Manchester City. His partnership with Son is also admirable because he is a leader who understands the players around him and he is able to bring them to play and click.
Regardless of what his future holds in the summer if he decides to represent Manchester City over Tottenham when both teams clash, I don't think he would be booed because he gave everything for Tottenham and that can be seen with his 2 goals against Manchester City in the league just a few days ago. It looked like he was bent on making a statement, wanting to be seen again and to remind everyone of his talent and his commitment and he proved that easily. He could have easily gotten a hat-trick if not for the offside call that chalked off his goal.
His talent on the ball, his leadership qualities and his professionalism can never be denied. He is an amazing player and a legend for Tottenham Hotspur. His goals speak (over 173 goals) and assist too; over 36, both in the Premier League alone.
