Most of the time, we are unable to know
for sure if someone likes us. This could be because the other person is shy, hesitant or some other reason. Herein are tips on how to know if someone likes you:
Eye contact
The oxytocin level of the body is responsible for increased eye contact. Frequent eye contact with the other person may be a sign of attraction and interest. Seeing as repeated eye contact means the person keeps looking at you, it might point to a desire to be with or befriend you. Of course, impolite staring doesn’t fall into this category.
A light touch
Being friends with someone of the opposite gender can be a very pleasant experience
as these friendships are built on trust. This trust and mutual like usually presents as touching of arms or wrists by the friends. Other signs may include touching hair or straightening tie and clothes. These acts indicate the emotional attachment of a party in a friendship and do not necessarily point to romantic interest.
Inward Leaning
Body orientation is one of the most important indicators of the kind of bond you share with another person. People who are comfortable with each other or someone who wants to be, usually face and lean towards the other person when they are interacting. This act is usually without any conscious thought.
Mirroring
Does the other person like your company? Does s/he make you feel important? Does 5/ he share his/her problems with you? If yes, then the chances are high that you are liked by that person. This is one way to you know if the other person is genuinely interested in you or not.
Emotional attentiveness
The type of emotional bond you share or signs of attraction is usually portrayed by the concern a person shows for you and your well-being. Take time out to consider the following questions:
-Does your absence bother them?
-Does that person seem worried about your health?
-Does he/she take an interest in your life?
These tips are not foolproof but will essentially give you a fair idea about the kind of place you occupy in a person’s heart. However, as earlier pointed out, do not mistake this attention for a desire to have a romantic relationship with you. The only way to know for sure is to gather up the courage to ask them.
