Happy weekend everyone. It's full moon in this part of the world where i lived. Yesterday, I have the opportunity to travel to Kuala Penyu, 106.3km distance and about 2 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu city. I went to scout the location around this district after I finished my work around 3pm and I realize this place has a lot to offer. It's just that most of the place is not well maintained especially the photo that i will be uploading today. This place is called the Taman Awam Pantai Sawangan or Sawangan Public Beach which is a tourist attraction at this place. Too bad that the timing of my visit is a little bit off as it is a high tide season in the evening. I ask the locals here and they said the low tide usually happens in the morning this season. The water levels during the low tide is not this high they said and you can even go down the beach too. I was planning to fly my drone here yesterday but decided that it's not in the condition to fly with the wind gust is slightly strong. I did not want to take the risk of losing my drones to the sea in this condition because this is the only drone that I'm capable to own for the time being. So, I just walk around this place and went to the end of the jetty to see what it's feels like. This place must be a regular place for the fishing hobbyist to come. Maybe because it was closed during the long lockdown period and this place looks a bit rundown. I just hoped that the local district authority will soon repaired this place so that it will be safe to visit by the public.
I see that the side railing has not been completely installed. I think this is in the process of upgrading the previous steel railing to a better one that can withstand the sea water corrosion.
I saw these couple at the end of the jetty. They must have been fishing here all day.
This photo is taken using my phone and I get drenched from the water splash but it's worth. I have been waiting for this splash to happen and it took me a few minutes to read the waves timing and be ready to snap this moment.
It's not been the great timing to come here but I will be coming back again next time to fly my drones. Waiting for the low tides timing as to lessen the risk of crashing my drones to the sea and I hope to come back again soon or maybe next year after this end of year rainy season pass by.
